Samuel Novais, PhD
Ecologist
I am researcher at the Department of Multitrophic Interactions at the Instituto de Ecología, A.C. (Mexico) with experience on tropical ecology, arthropod-plant interactions, and community ecology.
Ecosystem engineering
I am interested in the role of animals, mainly arthropods, as ecosystem engineers and their effect on other organisms.
Insect communities
I am interested in understanding spatio-temporal patterns of insect diversity, as well as their responses to natural (e.g., hurricanes) and anthropogenic (e.g., fire) disturbances.
Tritrophic interactions
I am interested in studying tritrophic interactions between plants, herbivores, and their natural enemies
